A Montana state lawmaker had proposed a ban on leggings and yoga pants for the year 2015. The leggings worn by three children flying on a company pass were the reason why a United Airlines gate staff refused to let them board an aircraft in March 2017. After Delta Air Lines tweeted that leggings are appropriate attire on its flights, United Airlines stated that it does not restrict typical female passengers from boarding in leggings.

Eighty percent of those polled by Airfarewatchdog, which included actress Patricia Arquette and model and actress Chrissy Teigen, felt that the airline was right to prohibit "inappropriate clothing," even if that phrase was not defined. Leggings in Military use

 

A variety of nations' armies, notably infantry, have worn leggings since the late nineteenth century in order to protect their lower legs while also providing support for their ankles.
